What happens next
What happens after you request a log home inspection
A log home inspection with Log Care is free. You get a call or an email back, we book a visit that suits you, and an estimator comes to the property. You leave with a written scope of what is sound and what has failed — whether or not you hire us.
- 01
We get in touch
Someone from Log Care contacts you using whichever method you gave us. If you told us it is urgent, say so in the project box and we will treat it that way.
- 02
We come and look
Probe, moisture meter, and where it is warranted a thermal scan. We walk the elevations, check the grade line, the flashing and the joints, and find where water is getting in.
- 03
You get it in writing
What is sound, what has failed, how far the damage runs, and what each option costs. Priced by scope, so you can see what you are paying for and decide what to do this season and what can wait.

Log home restoration is the only thing we do.
If your property is outside Teton County, Teton Valley or Star Valley, ask anyway. We travel for the right project, and we will tell you honestly if you are better served by someone closer. For general background on log home maintenance standards, the NAHB Log & Timber Homes Council and the USDA Forest Products Laboratory Wood Handbook are both worth reading.
Before you send
Questions people ask before they get in touch
Is the log home inspection really free?
Yes. We come to the property, inspect it, and give you a written scope at no charge and with no obligation. We would rather spend an hour telling you what your log home needs than sell you a repair you did not need.
How soon will someone get back to me?
We reply to every request that comes through this form. If the situation is urgent — active water intrusion, a log you can push a screwdriver into, a deck connection you are worried about — say so in the project box and call 307-734-9563 as well so it is not sitting in an inbox.
What does a log home inspection cover?
A log home inspection covers all four elevations, the grade line and sill logs, log ends and crown checks, window and door flashing, joints and chinking, and any deck or rail connections bolted through the logs. We probe suspect wood, take moisture readings, and scan thermally where it is warranted. Bring photos and anything you know about past repairs — helpful, but not required.
Do you work outside Teton County?
Our core service area is Teton County Wyoming, Teton Valley Idaho, and Star Valley Wyoming. We do travel beyond it for larger projects. Ask, and if the trip does not make sense for you we will say so.
Can you give me a price over the phone?
For log home repair, honestly no — and be careful with anyone who will. Nobody knows how far rot has travelled until it is probed. We can give you realistic ranges by phone, and a real number after the assessment.
Do I have to consent to text messages?
No. The SMS box is optional. Leave it unchecked and we will use your phone and email only. If you do opt in, you can reply STOP at any time.
